Allow members --recursive inside a realized worktree or descendant without repeating its name. Preserve explicit-name precedence and reject missing context without Git probes. Refs [[tasks/harmony-2613]]

and use it instead of `std::env::current_dir()` to infer membership. Add a
protocol test where the process and request directories differ, confirming the
command selects membership from the request directory.

Fold the unreleased members command into list [NAME] --metadata-only. Infer the enclosing set from root or descendant directories; keep all-set listing outside worktrees and selected failures explicit. Refs [[tasks/harmony-2613]]
Pass request.cwd through typed dispatch and resolve named/default roots relative to that directory without changing process state. Cover a different process cwd plus nested metadata-only paths with zero Git calls. Refs [[tasks/harmony-2613]]

Problem and resulting behavior
Background consumers such as ATC need worktree membership, then observe Git themselves. Existing recursive list/status perform branch and dirty-state probes that those consumers repeat. Also, running
listinside.worktrees/NAMEcould return an empty listing instead of describing the current set.Extend the existing list API:
list [NAME]selects an explicit set, defaults to the enclosing set inside.worktrees/NAMEor any descendant, and lists all configured sets outside a worktree.--metadata-onlycontrols observation detail independently of selection and recursion. The earlier unreleasedmemberscommand is removed in favor of this API.Before and after usage
Before, topology-only callers used detailed Git status:
Now they can select exactly one set without Git-state probes:
From
.worktrees/example/or any descendant, including a nested repository:The first two retain branch/dirty summaries; the last returns aliases and checkout/source paths. Explicit NAME overrides inferred selection. Without NAME outside a worktree, list still enumerates all sets.
status NAMEremains the detailed Git-state command, including modified files, untracked counts and ahead/behind information.Output and error contract
The JSON envelope remains
worktrees, even for one selected set. Illustrative metadata-only output:{ "worktrees": [{ "name": "example", "root": "/work/harmony/.worktrees/example", "has_meta_root": true, "repos": [{ "alias": ".", "path": "/work/harmony/.worktrees/example", "source_path": "/work/harmony" }] }] }Metadata-only omits branch/dirty/ahead-behind fields and launches no Git probes. Available set lifecycle metadata is retained. Without that flag, existing observed repository fields are preserved.
--recursiveincludes nested realized repositories; omitting it retains legacy traversal boundaries.Missing, empty or invalid selected sets fail instead of returning a misleading empty/partial success. Recursive all-set listing preserves healthy sets and reports failed sets in warnings. Consumers must check warnings before treating an aggregate inventory as complete. Inference uses a path-only location hint, so invalid enclosing metadata cannot silently select another root.
Dependencies and validation
Requires meta_cli #35. Consumer: ATC #554. Documentation: Meta #100.
listalso selects the current set./usr/bin/time -p, same set and 14 repositories: recursive observed list 1.17s; metadata-only list 0.35s. These are local samples, not benchmark averages or crash-prevention evidence.Tracked by [[tasks/harmony-2613]].

52e1322threads protocolrequest.cwdthrough typed worktree dispatch into list selection/root resolution, without process-wide chdir. The executable fixture now starts the process in the source directory while requesting the worktree root/deep descendant. The zero-Git metadata-only fixture also includes a valid nested checkout and verifies aliases, paths and canonical source paths for both members. All 71 unit and four protocol tests and strict all-target Clippy passed; both review threads have responses with evidence.Help follow-up
