Summary

- Actions.HIBERNATE
- InstanceStatus.STARTING_HIBERNATION
- InstanceStatus.HIBERNATING
- Hibernate examples and their offline polling loops
- Hibernate references in the client docstring and CLAUDE.md

Remove these symbols from both the verda and datacrunch namespaces. Preserve arbitrary action strings, restore behavior, and delete payloads.

Evidence

  • Before: 301 tests passed on each Python version from 3.10 through 3.14.
After: The same 301 tests passed on each version. Each run reported 31 existing warnings.
  • Ruff lint and formatting checks passed.
  • Both packages built as wheels and source distributions. All existing mocked packaging smoke checks passed.
  • Temporary checks confirmed symbol removal through both namespaces and preserved arbitrary action behavior.
  • No Hibernate references remain in tracked files.
  • Live integration tests were skipped because they provision resources.

Validation used CI-pinned uv 0.9.11. This removal uses existing tests and temporary checks. No permanent tests were added.

Merge Danger

Door: two-way

A revert restores the removed symbols. This patch changes no stored data.

Blast Radius: consumers

This change breaks callers that reference the three removed constants through either namespace. Those callers must change before they upgrade.

Release version selection and release notes remain separate.

Superseded by #100. The replacement deprecates Hibernate while preserving existing calls. This removal PR is closed. Its branch remains available.
