[GLK][br-glk] metallic noise when DP/HDMI audio playback on GLK #349
Description
This noise issue is easily triggered by pause/release.
How to reproduce:
- aplay -Dhw:0,5 -r 48000 -c 2 -f s16_le test.wav -i
- press the space key to do pause/release

@keqiaozhang Please verify if this issue is solved by latest cros-4.14-rebase kernel.
It seems the kernel patch has been merged to solve this issue:

Checked with latest cros-4.14-rebase kernel+ sof-glk003 firmware , this issue is still exists.
Checked with latest cros-4.14-rebase kernel+ sof-master firmware, pause/release HDMI audio will cause IPC error.

This is a generic HD-A issue, not only for GLK.

@keqiaozhang if you have verified that the metallic noise is gone with HDMI audio playack w/o PAUSE/RESUME, would you please update here and close this issue, file a new issue for metallic noise at PAUSE/RESUME?

Keqiao has proved there is no longer metallic noise w/o PAUSE/RESUME on Yorp.
Please keep this issue open until metallic noise w/ PAUSE/RESUME is also fixed. Thanks!

We verify the PR(#504) on APL UP2.
The metallic noise issue is triggered by pause/release.
There is no metallic noise without pause/release.
Verify Env:

This is a generic issue and also reproduced on ICL.

PR #575 (merged to glk-004-drop-stable) fixed this metallic noise on HDMI playback pause/resume. Now the reproducible rate is low.
@keqiaozhang Could you help to close this one and file new bug to reflect the latest status?

Confirmed that this issue is fixed, so this issue can be closed.
But we found another noise issue and track it in #583
