    okay, I spent some time with Gemini and Got it working on both Ubuntu and Fedora. This is the resource Guide I made. The issue mainly stemmed from firmware for the Texas Instruments Amplifier. I will just paste my full guide below and maybe it will give you guys what needs to be fixed for the Tas2783/8EA5 firmware :) I hope this helps. Who knows, maybe I went in circles, but it works on both Fedora and Ubuntu.

    Here are your final, updated Master Audio Guides for both Ubuntu and Fedora on the HP OmniBook X Flip 16-cb0043dx (Intel Core Ultra 9 386H / Panther Lake).
    These guides include all our fixes: firmware extraction, ownership permissions, automated profile switching for the microphone, and automatic speaker initialization on boot.

    PART 1: UBUNTU MASTER GUIDE (Ubuntu 26.04+)
    Step 1: Install Required Tools
    Open a terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T) and run:
    codeBash
    sudo apt update
    sudo apt install -y zstd pulseaudio-utils pavucontrol
    Step 2: Decompress & Symlink Texas Instruments Amplifier Firmware (.zst)
    codeBash

    1. Decompress .zst firmware binaries to /lib/firmware/

    sudo zstd -dc /lib/firmware/ti/audio/tas2783/8EXX-X-9.bin.zst | sudo tee /lib/firmware/8EA5-2-0x9.bin > /dev/null
    sudo zstd -dc /lib/firmware/ti/audio/tas2783/8EXX-X-C.bin.zst | sudo tee /lib/firmware/8EA5-2-0xC.bin > /dev/null

    2. Create non-0x fallback symlinks

    sudo ln -sf /lib/firmware/8EA5-2-0x9.bin /lib/firmware/8EA5-2-9.bin
    sudo ln -sf /lib/firmware/8EA5-2-0xC.bin /lib/firmware/8EA5-2-C.bin
    Step 3: Create the Automated Boot Script (Speakers + Mic)
    Run this block to ensure folder permissions are correct and to create the autostart launcher:
    codeBash

    1. Fix folder ownership

    mkdir -p ~/.config/autostart
    sudo chown -R $USER:$USER ~/.config/autostart

    2. Create the autostart launcher

    cat << 'EOF' > ~/.config/autostart/load-speakers.desktop
    [Desktop Entry]
    Type=Application
    Name=Load Laptop Speakers and Mic
    Exec=sh -c "sleep 2 && pactl set-card-profile alsa_card.pci-0000_00_1f.3-platform-sof_sdw HiFi && pactl load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:0,2 sink_name=laptop_speakers sink_properties=device.description='Laptop_Speakers'"
    Hidden=false
    NoDisplay=false
    X-GNOME-Autostart-enabled=true
    EOF

    3. Make the shortcut executable

    chmod +x ~/.config/autostart/load-speakers.desktop
    Step 4: Reboot
    codeBash
    sudo reboot
    Step 5: Select Devices in Settings
    Once logged back in:
    Open Settings -> Sound.
    Output Device: Select Laptop_Speakers.
    Input Device: Select SoundWire Microphones - Panther Lake Smart Sound Technology BUS.

    PART 2: FEDORA MASTER GUIDE (Fedora 44 / Rawhide)
    Step 1: Install Required Tools
    Open a terminal and run:
    codeBash
    sudo dnf install -y xz pulseaudio-utils pavucontrol
    Step 2: Decompress & Symlink Texas Instruments Amplifier Firmware (.xz)
    codeBash

    1. Decompress .xz firmware binaries to /lib/firmware/

    sudo xz -dc /lib/firmware/ti/audio/tas2783/8EA5-0-2-0x9.bin.xz | sudo tee /lib/firmware/8EA5-2-0x9.bin > /dev/null
    sudo xz -dc /lib/firmware/ti/audio/tas2783/8EA5-0-2-0xC.bin.xz | sudo tee /lib/firmware/8EA5-2-0xC.bin > /dev/null

    2. Create non-0x fallback symlinks

    sudo ln -sf /lib/firmware/8EA5-2-0x9.bin /lib/firmware/8EA5-2-9.bin
    sudo ln -sf /lib/firmware/8EA5-2-0xC.bin /lib/firmware/8EA5-2-C.bin
    Step 3: Create the Automated Boot Script (Speakers + Mic)
    Run this block to ensure folder permissions are correct and to create the autostart launcher:
    codeBash

    1. Fix folder ownership

    mkdir -p ~/.config/autostart
    sudo chown -R $USER:$USER ~/.config/autostart

    2. Create the autostart launcher

    cat << 'EOF' > ~/.config/autostart/load-speakers.desktop
    [Desktop Entry]
    Type=Application
    Name=Load Laptop Speakers and Mic
    Exec=sh -c "sleep 2 && pactl set-card-profile alsa_card.pci-0000_00_1f.3-platform-sof_sdw HiFi && pactl load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:0,2 sink_name=laptop_speakers sink_properties=device.description='Laptop_Speakers'"
    Hidden=false
    NoDisplay=false
    X-GNOME-Autostart-enabled=true
    EOF

    3. Make the shortcut executable

    chmod +x ~/.config/autostart/load-speakers.desktop
    Step 4: Reboot
    codeBash
    sudo reboot
    Step 5: Select Devices in Settings
    Once logged back in:
    Open Settings -> Sound.
    Output Device: Select Laptop_Speakers.
    Input Device: Select SoundWire Microphones - Panther Lake Smart Sound Technology BUS.

    QUICK TROUBLESHOOTING CHEAT SHEET
    If microphone recording is too quiet:
    Open terminal and run alsamixer -> Press F6 (select sof-soundwire) -> Press F4 (Capture view) -> Scroll right and raise rt712 FU / Capture volume sliders with the Up Arrow key. Run sudo alsactl store to save.
    To test audio output manually from terminal at any time:
    codeBash
    pactl load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:0,2 sink_name=laptop_speakers sink_properties=device.description="Laptop_Speakers"

    Just a heads up, Those Fedora Instructions only work on Fedora Rawhide which was running Kernel 7.2. Below are the instructions for Fedora 44 Standard Release 7.1.x+)
    The Firmware Naming Differs between the releases.

    FEDORA 44 MASTER GUIDE (Standard Release / Kernel 7.1.x+)
    Step 1: Install Required Tools & Updates
    Open Terminal and run:
    codeBash
    sudo dnf upgrade --refresh -y kernel* linux-firmware
    sudo dnf install -y xz pulseaudio-utils pavucontrol

    Step 2: Decompress & Create Texas Instruments Firmware Files
    Kernel 7.1.x specifically requests the non-0x binary filenames (8EA5-2-9.bin and 8EA5-2-C.bin). Run this block to create all necessary binary variants in /lib/firmware/:
    codeBash

    1. Decompress firmware binaries to /lib/firmware/

    sudo xz -dc /lib/firmware/ti/audio/tas2783/8EA5-0-2-0x9.bin.xz | sudo tee /lib/firmware/8EA5-2-0x9.bin > /dev/null
    sudo xz -dc /lib/firmware/ti/audio/tas2783/8EA5-0-2-0xC.bin.xz | sudo tee /lib/firmware/8EA5-2-0xC.bin > /dev/null

    2. Create the non-0x copies (required for kernel 7.1.x+)

    sudo cp /lib/firmware/8EA5-2-0x9.bin /lib/firmware/8EA5-2-9.bin
    sudo cp /lib/firmware/8EA5-2-0xC.bin /lib/firmware/8EA5-2-C.bin

    Step 3: Create the Automated Boot Script (Speakers + Mic)
    Run this block to fix folder permissions and create the startup shortcut that sets your card profile to HiFi (activating the Microphone) and loads hw:0,2 (activating your Speakers):
    codeBash

    1. Ensure folder exists and fix directory ownership

    mkdir -p ~/.config/autostart
    sudo chown -R $USER:$USER ~/.config/autostart

    2. Create the autostart launcher

    cat << 'EOF' > ~/.config/autostart/load-speakers.desktop
    [Desktop Entry]
    Type=Application
    Name=Load Laptop Speakers and Mic
    Exec=sh -c "sleep 2 && pactl set-card-profile alsa_card.pci-0000_00_1f.3-platform-sof_sdw HiFi && pactl load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:0,2 sink_name=laptop_speakers sink_properties=device.description='Laptop_Speakers'"
    Hidden=false
    NoDisplay=false
    X-GNOME-Autostart-enabled=true
    EOF

    3. Make the shortcut executable

    chmod +x ~/.config/autostart/load-speakers.desktop

    Step 4: Reboot Your System
    codeBash
    sudo reboot

    Step 5: Select Your Devices in GNOME Settings
    Once logged back into Fedora:
    Open Settings -> Sound.
    Output Device: Select Laptop_Speakers.
    Input Device: Select SoundWire Microphones - Core Ultra Processors (Series 3)....

    Quick Troubleshooting Reference
    If Laptop_Speakers does not show as default automatically on first boot:
    Open pavucontrol -> Output Devices tab -> find Laptop_Speakers and click the green checkmark button on the far right side to set it as default.
    If microphone recording volume is low:
    Run alsamixer -> press F6 (select sof-soundwire) -> press F4 (Capture view) -> scroll right and use the Up Arrow key to set rt712 FU and Capture volume sliders to 100%. Run sudo alsactl store to save settings.

    @bardliao @ujfalusi any ideas ? Looks like 3 SDW devices on the bus, but 2 with part number 0x0000 ?

    @lgirdwood The 0x0000 part id is confusing. But it is the part id of TI TAS2783.

    @Jay-Zen-801 Sounds like you already found the fix. :)
    BTW, please attach the full dmesg log when you file an issue. That will help us to analyze the issue.

    @bardliao I can probably go back and find the log if needed. But I am not 100% on how this works. But will these fixes get upstreamed into SOF to fix the driver issue for other people now? I was looking for a fix for my own issue and wanted to share so it could help other people.

    @Jay-Zen-801 The TI firmware will not be part of SOF release. @niranjanhyti Could you help on this issue?

    Using your solution by adaptating it to the ultrabook x flip 14 name 8EA4, I also manage to make sound work on fedora 44 with kernel 7.1.10.

    Lib firmware :

    # Decompression des binaires TI vers /lib/firmware/
    sudo xz -dc /lib/firmware/ti/audio/tas2783/8EA4-0-2-0x9.bin.xz | sudo tee /lib/firmware/8EA4-2-0x9.bin > /dev/null
    sudo xz -dc /lib/firmware/ti/audio/tas2783/8EA4-0-2-0xC.bin.xz | sudo tee /lib/firmware/8EA4-2-0xC.bin > /dev/null

    # Creation des liens symboliques de secours (sans le prefixe 0x)
    sudo ln -sf /lib/firmware/8EA4-2-0x9.bin /lib/firmware/8EA4-2-9.bin
    sudo ln -sf /lib/firmware/8EA4-2-0xC.bin /lib/firmware/8EA4-2-C.bin

    autostart:

    `cat << 'EOF' > ~/.config/autostart/load-speakers.desktop
    [Desktop Entry]
    Type=Application
    Name=Load Laptop Speakers and Mic
    Exec=sh -c "sleep 3 && pactl set-card-profile alsa_card.pci-0000_00_1f.3-platform-sof_sdw HiFi && pactl load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:0,2 sink_name=laptop_speakers sink_properties=device.description='Laptop_Speakers'"
    Hidden=false
    NoDisplay=false
    X-GNOME-Autostart-enabled=true
    EOF`

    As for mic, I still didn't obtained an input.

    Thanks

    Alternative found when updating to kernel 7.2.4 without succeeding to reperform the tweak :

    Download audio driver from HP web site

    extract the exe to extract

    sudo mkdir -p /lib/firmware/ti/audio/tas2783/

    sudo cp extract/src/Driver/5TI/Firmwares/0-2-0x8.bin /lib/firmware/ti/audio/tas2783/
    sudo cp extract/src/Driver/5TI/Firmwares/0-2-0xC.bin /lib/firmware/ti/audio/tas2783/

    sudo cp /lib/firmware/ti/audio/tas2783/0-2-0x8.bin /lib/firmware/ti/audio/tas2783/1714-1-8.bin
    sudo cp /lib/firmware/ti/audio/tas2783/0-2-0xC.bin /lib/firmware/ti/audio/tas2783/1714-1-C.bin

    Put audio profile in mode pro (not working in standard mode)
    pactl set-card-profile alsa_card.pci-0000_00_1f.3-platform-sof_sdw pro-audio

    in my case sink 51 was the one outputting sound

    wpctl set-default 51

    Unfortunatly with this no usb-c to HDMI sound output...
