[BUG] [CNL] kmod-load-unload failing due to suspected runtime PM imbalance #2535

Closed

Description

@lyakh

A weekly test on CNL / Mantis with kernel 8290bd6 ("travis: replace SHA_MAIN/PR hacks with ${TRAVIS_COMMIT_RANGE/.../..}") and firmware db09bb8 ("dcblock: fix reset handler") failed a kernel loading-unloading test on iteration 12 because the DSP failed to suspend after 15 seconds of waiting. It is strange, that it failed that way after 11 successful iterations, has to be investigated further. The kernel log was clean.

Update: after a reproduction and a careful kernel log investigation an error has been located:

[ 8077.342096] [3284] sof-audio-pci 0000:00:1f.3: ipc tx: 0x40010000: GLB_PM_MSG: CTX_SAVE

So it is the same old #2498 and an additional bug of failing to detect kernel errors during module loading-unloading. Closing this one, will open one for sof-test
