1d: stop three paragraphs rendering as tables (bare | in inline math) - #254

Lines 11, 30 and 32 used |...| inside $...$. kramdown reads the bare pipes as table cells, so each of those paragraphs rendered as a one-row table. Use \lvert ... \rvert as CONTRIBUTING recommends. No change to the mathematics. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

That branch predated #254, so merging it brought back bare pipes in inline math on two lines, which kramdown renders as stray one-row tables. Caught by check_pages.py W3 -- the second time the tool has paid for itself today. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Three paragraphs on the 1d page currently render as one-row tables on the live site: line 11 ("This is the maximum of |f*f| ..."), and the "How the upper bound is checked" and "Other variant" bullets. They use |...| inside$...$ , and kramdown reads the bare pipes as table cell separators before MathJax sees them.
This PR switches those to \lvert ... \rvert, as the Rendering section of CONTRIBUTING recommends. The mathematics is unchanged. Rendering 1d.md with kramdown (GFM input, mathjax engine, as Jekyll does) gives 5 tables before the change and 2 after (the two bound tables). There's no new emphasis, and the edit only touches lines that #247 doesn't.
Found with a small consistency checker I'm putting together for the repo. I'll open that separately in case it's useful.
