Cursor CLI

English | 繁體中文

Hand a coding task from Claude Code, Codex, Grok, or Antigravity CLI (agy) to Cursor Agent — the same agent you already use in Cursor CLI.

Say what you want in chat. Your current assistant picks a Cursor model and reasoning level, then Cursor Agent does the work in your repo.

What you get

  • Call Cursor from another CLI without leaving that session
  • Choose the Cursor model and reasoning effort in plain language (grok high, opus thinking xhigh, composer fast)
  • Default: Grok 4.6 High, fast off unless you ask for it
  • A thin wrapper that always launches cursor-agent (never the bare agent command — on some Windows setups that is Grok)

Before you install

  1. Install Cursor CLI and sign in (cursor-agent login, or cursor-agent status to check).
  2. Have Node.js 18+ on your PATH.

Install

Pick the install method for the CLI you actually use. You can install into more than one harness.

One command for every harness (skills.sh)

Works with Claude Code, Codex, Grok, Antigravity CLI (agy), and other Agent Skills clients:

npx skills add spboxer3/cursor-cli --skill cursor-cli -g -y

Claude Code

In Claude Code:

/plugin marketplace add spboxer3/cursor-cli
/plugin install cursor-cli@cursor-cli

From a shell:

claude plugin marketplace add spboxer3/cursor-cli
claude plugin install cursor-cli@cursor-cli

Restart or /reload-plugins, then use /cursor or say “use Cursor”.

Codex

codex plugin marketplace add spboxer3/cursor-cli
codex plugin add cursor-cli@cursor-cli

In a Codex session, invoke with $cursor-cli or ask Codex to use Cursor.

You can also install only the skill folder:

# from a Codex session, or with the skill installer
# repo: spboxer3/cursor-cli path: skills/cursor-cli

Grok (Grok Build)

grok plugin install spboxer3/cursor-cli --trust

Start a new Grok session after install, then say “use Cursor” or use the /cursor-cli skill command.

Antigravity CLI (agy)

agy plugin install https://github.com/spboxer3/cursor-cli.git

Or with the shared skills CLI:

npx skills add spboxer3/cursor-cli --skill cursor-cli --agent antigravity-cli -g -y

Then start a new agy session if the new skill does not appear yet.

Manual install (any harness)

Clone the repo and copy (or symlink) the skill folder:

Harness User-global skill path
Claude Code ~/.claude/skills/cursor-cli/
Codex ~/.codex/skills/cursor-cli/
Grok ~/.grok/skills/cursor-cli/
Antigravity CLI (agy) ~/.gemini/antigravity-cli/skills/cursor-cli/
git clone https://github.com/spboxer3/cursor-cli.git
cp -R cursor-cli/skills/cursor-cli ~/.claude/skills/cursor-cli

The folder you copy must contain SKILL.md and scripts/.

Use it

You do not need to remember flags. Talk to the assistant you are already in:

  • “Use Cursor to fix the auth bug.”
  • “Use Cursor Grok high to implement this.”
  • “Ask Cursor opus thinking xhigh — don’t edit, diagnose the 401.”
  • “Composer, make it fast, fix the typo in the README.”
  • “Cursor sonnet medium, plan only.”
  • “Continue the last Cursor thread.”

Slash / skill names after install:

Harness How to call it
Claude Code /cursor · skill cursor-cli · subagent cursor-delegate
Codex $cursor-cli
Grok /cursor-cli (user-invocable skill)
Antigravity CLI (agy) ask in chat, or /skills then pick cursor-cli

Model and effort

You say What Cursor runs
(nothing) Grok 4.6 High, not fast
grok / grok-4.6 cursor-grok-4.6-…
composer composer-2.5
opus claude-opus-5-thinking-…
sonnet claude-sonnet-5-thinking-…
low / medium / high / xhigh / max reasoning effort
fast / 快 the *-fast preset — only if you say it
don’t edit / explain read-only (--ask)
plan first plan mode

Live model ids on your account:

node skills/cursor-cli/scripts/cursor-run.mjs models

Preview the composed id without starting an agent:

node skills/cursor-cli/scripts/cursor-run.mjs resolve --model grok-4.6 --effort high
# → { "resolvedModel": "cursor-grok-4.6-high", ... }

Check that Cursor is ready

node skills/cursor-cli/scripts/cursor-run.mjs check

You should see a version string and Logged in as …. If login fails, run cursor-agent login.

Troubleshooting

The wrong agent starts. Do not type agent. On Windows, that can be Grok (~/.grok/bin/agent.exe). This skill always uses cursor-agent. You can point at a specific binary with CURSOR_BINARY.

Skill does not appear. Start a new session after install. For Claude Code, use /reload-plugins; for Antigravity CLI, restart agy and check /skills.

--fast turned on by itself. It should not. Fast is off unless you say “fast” / “快” or name a *-fast preset. Open an issue if a harness still adds it.
