Removes .github/CODEOWNERS. It has never worked.

  • Its only line is * simplify9/reviewers, which is missing the @. GitHub's CODEOWNERS check reports "Invalid owner" on line 1, so no review has ever been requested through it.
  • The reviewers team it names was deleted on 2026-11-04 during the org teams cleanup.
  • Review is still required. The org ruleset "Default branch: PR + team approval" requires an approval from @simplify9/code-reviewers on every PR into main, and this PR does not change that.

Nothing changes except the "Invalid owner" error goes away.

Before merging, note: a push to main runs this repo's publish/deploy workflow, which has no path filter. Merging this PR as-is would publish a new patch version (or redeploy, for SW-Surl-api) with no code change. Squash-merge with [ci skip] in the commit subject to avoid that.

Summary

Summary

Removed .github/CODEOWNERS, which contained an invalid owner entry. This removes that file-based review-routing configuration. The reported organization ruleset requirement for team approval is unchanged.

  • Risk level: risk:low
  • Security-sensitive areas touched: None. The change affects review routing only.
  • Test coverage impact: No test changes are indicated. No test results were provided.
  • Operational concerns: The nuget-publish.yml workflow runs on pushes to main and has no path filter. Merging may trigger package publishing. The workflow references a reusable workflow, so the publish behavior and the suggested [ci skip] mitigation were not verified here.

The CODEOWNERS file no longer assigns ownership to simplify9/reviewers.

No application code changes remain concerning. Coordinate the merge with release ownership because this metadata-only change still triggers the existing publication workflow.

Full details: Title check

Explanation

The title states the primary change: removing the CODEOWNERS file. It also gives the reason, which is an invalid owner and no review requests. The changeset deletes only .github/CODEOWNERS, so the title matches the change.

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The description names the deleted file and gives the reason. It covers the invalid owner entry, the deleted reviewers team, and the review requirement that still applies. It also warns that a push to main triggers the publish/deploy workflow, and it advises squash-merging with [ci skip]. All of this relates to the changeset.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

No eligible functions found in the changed files. Skipping docstring coverage check. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 0 functions across 0 files.
