Description
Playing on a server, tried making an elevator contraption for my airship and whenever I'd go up it, I'd briefly teleport about 100 blocks above my current location, return and fall through as shown in the video below.
Minecraft.NeoForge_.1.21.1.-.Multiplayer.3rd-party.Server.2026-04-30.09-18-05.mp4
The server is updated to
Sable 1.2.1
Simulated 1.2.1
As well as the client
The ship was tilted fowards slightly and was on the floor when recreating the bug, tried recreating on a client world and it didn't occur.
The elevator pulley is operating at 64 RPM, the contraption is 5x3x3
There is also another simulated object inside of the airship
Server logs:
Game Log
N/A nothing on client but the images at the bottom of the description are from the server when the bug occured.

[-]Elevator contraption glitching when used on simulated object on server[/-][+]Elevator contraption glitching when used on landed simulated object on server [/+]Kaddotjar commentedon May 1, 2026
Bug still occurs on sable 1.2.2 and occurs when going down on the elevator too but does not occur when in air
Kaddotjar commentedon May 1, 2026
Also I've noticed other players go invisible when on the contraption, I'll test and update if it still occurs when in air
Kaddotjar commentedon May 1, 2026
Players do not go invisible when in air, seems the bug only occurs when the ship is on the floor and not moving
NickoNick-dot commentedon May 8, 2026
This also happens to me on a moving contraption in the air, but not all the time?
When the ship is moving it also pushes me in the elevator.
also seems to happen when I'm sitting in the elevator.
LIMachi commentedon May 17, 2026
I have the same issue, and after some testing I have this conclusion: It has nothing to do with being "landed", it's more like, if the pulley is more than ~15 blocks aways (Y axis) than it's original position (at time of assembling/world loading) that the teleporting happen (and the distance of the tp seem somewhat proportional to that distance on the Y axis). Having 1 or more simulated contraptions doesn't seem to affect this.
It's probably due to how the pulley contraption tries to keep you on the contraption while running (keep your Y axis correct while moving, while leaving you free to roam on the X and Z axis), and the pulley being confused on it's actuall Y position (so maybe it's also base Create fault).
Hope this help :) (and that the issue will be fixed, I would have been screwed if I didn't add emergency ladders on my ship when I finally brought it to my survival world :P )
LelouBil commentedon May 22, 2026
Same issue here, players disappearing when entering, and being visible very high above the elevator by other players (when in their pov they are inside) and when changing floors you flicker between high up and the elevator before finally falling through the elevator
LIMachi commentedon May 24, 2026
Another thing that I tested (forgot to test before): breaking and replacing the elevator block in a sublevel doesn't fix the issue, and dissasembling and reasembling the sublevel doesn't seem to fix the issue either (which is surprising to me). My current guess is: the elevator uses the elevation in the sublevel to try to snap us to the correct Y level, and I don't know how the sublevels work, but my guess is that builds are centered on the middle Y elevation when built (so for a standard level going from -64 to 320, that would be y:
127~128, my elevator relative to the center of my ship is at Y +14, and when I'm inside the moving part I'm at Y +8, so if I start moving, I should be teleported to the height127~128+8~7, so in the range135~137+ the movement of the elevator downwards, I get teleported to height 131, which is sligtly off from my predictions, but If we take into account the speed of the elevator and my falling speed when I took the screenshots, it could account for the inaccuracy). Now, to fix this there is multiple solutions, but my guess would be to patch the code of the elevator so when in a sublevel, it doesn't use it's block position in world but a custom vector (as using an approximation of the block position would incur phasing/falling since sublevels are almost never perfectly aligned with the real world), and if other moded blocks (create or not) use similar systems, they might need patches too. (sorry for the big post once again, and for my weird phrasing patern, I'm not english :P )
