Travis macOS Python 3.5 wheel build failure #9535

Closed

Description

@JukkaL

The Python 3.5 macOS wheel build is failing. Not sure what's going on, #9530 might have triggered it somwhow, but the changes look innocent. Alternatively, it could be a flake or something changed in the build environment.

    The next build passed, so this was probably a flake.

    Yeah, it looks like we try to substitute the version for $VERSION here:

    result = [re.sub(r'\b' + re.escape(version) + r'\b', '$VERSION', x) for x in result]

    But failed, presumably because one of these
    if __version__.endswith('+dev') and git.is_git_repo(mypy_dir) and git.have_git():
    checks meant we didn't append the hash to the version.
    So looks like a build environment flake to me.
