@StanFromIreland Are you currently working on this?

I'm completely new to CPython. I've built the project locally, but haven't started exploring the codebase in depth yet. I usually learn best by working on a specific issue rather than browsing files without a goal.

I noticed you're a regular CPython contributor and that you previously opened a PR related to this issue but later closed it. Was there a particular reason for closing it?

Also, would you consider this issue suitable for a newcomer?

I'm not currently working on this, I closed the PR because with all the conflicts it needed re-doing, and at the time I didn't have the capacity for that.

I suggest you familiarise yourself with the devguide if you haven't already, and look into some issues marked "easy".
