PYTHONEXECUTABLE envvar incorrectly doc'd as mac-only and ignored by -E/-I #133525
See my comment here. I'm not convinced yet that either the change in Python 3.11 to remove the macOS-only behavior of PYTHONEXECTUABLE or for it to be ignored by the -E and -I options was deliberate or desirable. I would still prefer to see it deprecated and removed as proposed in #91057. Let's continue the discussion on that issue.
Documentation
The documentation for the PYTHONEXECUTABLE environment variable incorrectly claims that it is Mac-only. This was changed sometime around 3.11.
Additionally, it isn't ignored by the -I and -E flags.
