Just a quick reminder about our contribution guidelines: before asking to work on an issue, we first need a clear understanding of the problem and a proposed approach. From the guidelines:
if an implementation has not been agreed upon yet, please include a brief explanation of how you plan to approach the issue. This helps us understand your thinking and gives us an opportunity to discuss the best solution. Note that we do not auto-assign issues, so comments that only say "please assign" without further context may be overlooked.
In this case the report itself is incomplete, so there isn’t anything actionable yet. The best next step would be to ask @kolya455 for more details, for example:
what exact error message appears?
which library?
does it fail in the Contribution Manager?
screenshots or console output
Note that this type of user support question is often better suited for the forum (https://discourse.processing.org/), where the community can help troubleshoot with them first and confirm whether it’s actually a bug.
@kolya455 could you share a screenshot or the exact error message you see when downloading a library? That will help us understand what’s happening.
@SableRaf Fair point sorry for jumping in too quickly and thanks for the reminder
@kolya455 To help narrow this down, could you share a bit more detail?
When you say “can’t download,” what exactly happens in Contribution Manager?
(does it open, freeze, crash, or show an error?)
Are you on a school/work network, proxy, VPN, or strict firewall?
Can you open this URL in your browser: [https://download.processing.org/contribs](vscode-file://vscode- app/c:/Users/avina/AppData/Local/Programs/Microsoft%20VS%20Code/resources/app/out/vs/code/electron-browser/workbench/workbench.html)
If it fails there too, it’s likely a network/access issue.
Are you running Processing from a restricted location (for example Program Files)?
On Windows, that can block library write/install operations.
If possible, please paste the PDE console output (View → Console) right after a failed download attempt. That should make the root cause clear quicklly
