Summary

Promotes the AzureMultiDisk feature gate to GA by enabling it in the Default and OKD feature sets, in addition to the existing TechPreviewNoUpgrade and DevPreviewNoUpgrade.

The feature gate is only consumed by the Openshift Installer, and adds support for configuring additional data disks on Azure machines, as described in the enhancement below.

Changes

  • features/features.go: enable AzureMultiDisk in Default and OKD
  • Regenerated features.md and the Default/OKD featuregate payload manifests (Hypershift and SelfManagedHA)

The gate does not guard any fields in this repository's CRDs, so no CRD manifests change.

Feature promotion (TBD)

References

Enable the AzureMultiDisk feature gate in the Default and OKD feature sets.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

No functions found in the changed files to evaluate docstring coverage. Skipping docstring coverage check. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff. Analyzed 0 functions across 1 files. (7 skipped: 7 unsupported.)

Full details: Test Structure And Quality

Explanation

PASS: The pull request changes only feature metadata, Go feature-gate registration, and generated YAML manifests. The authoritative diff contains no Ginkgo tests or test-related files, so the listed test-structure requirements are not applicable.

Full details: Microshift Test Compatibility

Explanation

No new Ginkgo e2e tests were added. The pull request changes only feature-gate configuration, generated documentation, and payload manifests. Therefore, the MicroShift test compatibility criteria do not apply.

Full details: Single Node Openshift (Sno) Test Compatibility

Explanation

The pull request adds no Ginkgo e2e tests or other test files. The authoritative diff changes only feature-gate declarations, documentation, and generated feature-gate manifests. Therefore, the SNO multi-node test compatibility check is not applicable.

Full details: Topology-Aware Scheduling Compatibility

Explanation

PASS. The pull request changes only the AzureMultiDisk feature-gate declaration, generated documentation, and feature-gate manifests. The diff adds no deployment manifests, operator code, controllers, pod scheduling constraints, node selectors, affinity, topology spread rules, replica logic, or PDBs. Therefore, it does not introduce a topology-incompatible scheduling assumption.

Full details: Ote Binary Stdout Contract

Explanation

The pull request changes only feature-gate registration, documentation, and YAML manifests. The Go change only adds inDefault() and inOKD() to FeatureGateAzureMultiDisk.enable(...). The diff introduces no fmt, klog, log, stdout, main, or suite-setup writes.

Full details: Ipv6 And Disconnected Network Test Compatibility

Explanation

The pull request adds no Ginkgo e2e tests. The diff changes only feature-gate declarations, documentation, and generated YAML manifests. No added test definitions, IPv4 assumptions, or external connectivity requirements are present.

Full details: No-Weak-Crypto

Explanation

The pull request only changes the AzureMultiDisk feature-gate registration, generated documentation, and feature-gate manifests. The diff adds no MD5, SHA1, DES, RC4, 3DES, Blowfish, ECB, custom crypto, or secret/token comparison code. AzureMultiDisk references are limited to feature-gate metadata and manifests, so this change does not introduce weak cryptography.

Full details: Container-Privileges

Explanation

The pull request changes only feature-gate registrations, documentation, and FeatureGate manifests. The added manifest lines contain only AzureMultiDisk entries. No changed line adds privileged: true, host namespace settings, SYS_ADMIN, allowPrivilegeEscalation: true, or container user settings.

openshift/enhancements#1779 should be merged prior to promoting this to default. Is there any particular reason it has not yet merged?

Aside from this, this LGTM.

@everettraven Not really other than the feature was in TP since 4.20 and only now going to GA so it was essentially parked until now that we have to ship it. I can try to get the EP over the line and also aligning it with the latest few changes/bugfixes we made for GA
