The 6.x and 4.x releases have tags for boron and argon respectively, but the 8.x releases don't have a carbon tag. Currently we're just inheriting FROM node:latest, but it would be nice to anchor that to carbon with FROM node:carbon.
We can look into that. There was some ongoing discussion about whether not they were going to still use release names or not. I didn't realize they decided to keep using them.
@SimenB do you know when the Docker Registry will be updated? I tried to use node:carbon but got
$ docker-compose up app
$ ERROR: Service 'app' failed to buil
$ Building app
$ Step 1/6 : FROM node:carbon
$ ERROR: Service 'app' failed to build: manifest for node:carbon not found
