Summary

Keep a physical-CPU-zero fallback when an older host boot tree omits the
optional multikernel,host-ipi-cpu property, while honoring an explicit
64-bit target when present.

This compatibility fix remains separate from PR #39 as requested. It changes
host restore behavior only; SBI IPI send/receive support remains with #28.

Validation and scope

  • the focused production restore fixture covers legacy fallback, explicit
target, and allocation/mapping/publication failures: 11 checks, 0 failures
  • the exact commit is integrated in the signed RISC-V prerequisite stack and
both exact lifecycle and loader tips complete full rv64 LLVM links
  • the commit carries the accepted DCO trailer

This is host-side and QEMU/build evidence, not physical sparse-hart or live
legacy-host/new-spawn interoperability qualification. It does not imply
general mixed-version ACK compatibility.

This remains a draft; this refresh does not request review or mark it ready.

The host-ipi-cpu emitter is already upstream. An absent optional target must not discard a valid host ring; preserve the legacy physical CPU zero behavior while honoring explicit sparse 64-bit targets.

The extracted production restore test first failed its two legacy-host assertions and now passes all 11 checks, including allocation, mapping and publication errors. No broader mixed-peer ACK compatibility is claimed.
