Stop showing Python: commands in the command palette when you don't have a python file open #10441

Closed

@mjbvz

Environment data

  • VS Code version: 1.43
  • Extension version (available under the Extensions sidebar): 2020.2.64397

Repro

  1. Install python extension

    We need to do a spike to figure out which commands to show/hide #10489.

    @karrtikr

    These are the commands I believe should be shown regardless of whether a Python file is opened:

    python.createNewFile
    python.clearCacheAndReload
    python.configureTests
    python.createEnvironment
    python.createTerminal
    python.enableSourceMapSupport
    python.launchTensorBoard
    python.refreshTensorBoard
    python.setInterpreter
    testing.reRunFailTests
    python.startREPL
    python.viewLanguageServerOutput
    python.viewOutput

    Rest are to be hidden when a Python file isn't opened.

    @karrtikr

    "activationEvents": [

    should also be changed to only contain these commands.
