Existing owner origin #4405 merged 6b7a00e77e6ecc1faf46cd4da602455d54750170; NVIDIA#4378 closed. Closing only this superseded downstream documentation promotion carrier unmerged, preserving head 5e0ca4c82904c094db42243a0b44d10ec5331881. Credit SoniaMehta14 report, Seth Jennings negotiation design, dot original documentation evidence, ChatGPT fork staging and Eric Curtin landed implementation separately. No new runtime qualification or competing upstream PR.

Canonical queue: https://github.com/kvnloo/oss-factory/issues/67

Scope

Address the documentation slice of upstream NVIDIA/OpenShell#4378. Make the already-required protocol 1.0 capability strings discoverable by third-party extension authors in the extension overview and MiddlewareManifest proto comment. No protocol fields, capability tokens, runtime behavior, or compatibility rules change.

Evidence and limitations

The original dot evidence: a missing-content RED → GREEN check and 12 documentation-navigation checks passed. Exact source review: d41e059. This minimal fork branch contains only the two doc/comment files; no fresh end-to-end runtime claim.

Upstream publication HOLD: OpenShell requires a vouched contributor, an accepted issue, and maintainer approval. This fork PR is a review handoff, not an origin submission. Do not bypass the vouch/HITL boundary. Credit SoniaMehta14 for reporting the documentation gap, Seth Jennings for the original negotiation contract, and dot for AI-assisted preparation. No DCO signoff on behalf of another person.

Adapt dot's verified documentation slice for NVIDIA#4378. Credit SoniaMehta14 for the report and Seth Jennings for negotiation design. AI-assisted preparation; no DCO attestation on behalf of Kevin.
Clarify the existing 1.0 middleware metadata contract without changing any field or token; from dot's scoped docs proposal.
