codecs.open() is deprecated #128
Description
Testing with Python 3.14.0 shows this warning:

Thanks a lot. If using
openin its place is backwards compatible within the v3 version of python, this should be an easy fix.fix: replace deprecated codecs.open with built-in open (#128)
