Added

• Local caches are now limited to the 10 most recently used entries per script, instead of growing without bound. Set WIREIT_CACHE_MAX_ENTRIES to change the limit, or to infinity for the previous behavior. Evicted entries are moved to .wireit/trash and deleted at the end of the run, which is safe to interrupt. Interrupting it makes Wireit exit with status 130 for SIGINT, or 143 for SIGTERM. A cache already over the limit, such as one from an earlier version, shrinks by one entry per write, and Wireit reminds you once a day while it holds more than twice the limit. To free it at once, run rm -rf .wireit/*/cache. See #71.
• Set WIREIT_CACHE_WORKTREES=true to store a linked Git worktree's local cache in the main worktree's corresponding .wireit folders. Any other value keeps each worktree's own cache. Fingerprints and GitHub Actions caching are unchanged.
• Added the optional description property to wireit.<script> configs, for a human-readable description of what the script does. See #1015.

Fixed

• Fixed GitHub Actions caching on Windows when Git for Windows' GNU tar is first on PATH, such as in a Git bash shell. Saving and restoring failed with Cannot connect to D: resolve failed. See #1242.
• Fixed issue where a failed GitHub Actions cache tarball download caused Wireit to skip the script and record an empty output manifest instead of running the script command.
• Fixed issue where the local cache could restore corrupt output. If Wireit was killed or crashed while writing a cache entry, later runs restored the partial entry, with files missing or truncated and no error. Entries are now written to a temp folder and renamed into place.
• GitHub Actions caching now uses http or https based on the scheme of ACTIONS_RESULTS_URL. Always calling https.request broke http:// cache proxies used by some third-party runners.
• WIREIT_PARALLEL, WIREIT_WATCH_POLL_MS, and WIREIT_MAX_OPEN_FILES now reject any value that is not a positive integer, such as 2abc or 1.5.
• The message explaining that GitHub Actions caching was disabled after an HTTP error from the cache service is now logged. It was always skipped before.
• An "env" setting that is a non-empty array, such as ["FOO"], now reports Expected an object instead of crashing Wireit and the VSCode extension with an internal error.
• "clean": "if-file-deleted" now also cleans when an output file was changed or deleted since the last run. Before, an incremental tool such as tsc could skip re-emitting a missing output, and Wireit cached the incomplete result. See #1471.
