   That is correct, they were still removed in the next 3.3.x release as discussed in that PR (#497 (comment)). So, 3.3.7-slim does not include the extra -dev packages (docker-library/official-images#18251), but 3.3.6-slim still does. In the *-slim (or *-alpine) images, you will need to install any dependencies that your Ruby gem installs require since they are designed to be as minimal as they can be and still run ruby.
