Summary

  • redesign the WebUI around a responsive session workspace with a collapsible session sidebar and operational right rail
  • add checkpoint, result, settings, memory review, diff, and expanded timeline workflows
  • bind asynchronous updates and restores to their originating session and clarify checkpoint restore boundaries

Verification

  • ./node_modules/.bin/vitest run (88 passed)
  • ./node_modules/.bin/tsc -b --noEmit
  • ./node_modules/.bin/tsc -b && ./node_modules/.bin/vite build
  • uv run pytest tests/ui/test_http_server.py -q -k "runtime_config or memory_review or session_result or checkpoint" (21 passed)
  • desktop and narrow-viewport production preview screenshots
  • git diff --cached --check

Review

Independent local review found no P0/P1 issues. Its two P2 findings were fixed before commit: runtime settings now use PATCH response truth without presenting an unreadable approval policy as current, and checkpoint restore explicitly states that workspace files are unchanged.

No postmortem/index.yaml entry matches webui/app/**, so no additional release checks apply.

Add the right-side operational rail, checkpoint and result views, memory review controls, expanded timeline events, and responsive workspace layout. Keep asynchronous session updates scoped to their originating session and cover the new behavior with focused UI tests.

Local production-path verification after o6n became unavailable:

  • isolated local API (127.0.0.1:18080) and production WebUI (127.0.0.1:4173)
  • browser exercised session creation, prompt/failure result, runtime settings PATCH, checkpoint create/restore, workspace diff/patch, memory panel, and 390px responsive layout
  • 35 API requests completed with 2xx responses; no browser console errors
  • mobile viewport: sidebar initially closed, no horizontal overflow, composer controls visible
  • local run exposed a terminal-result persistence window; fixed in b2f220a with bounded result retries and a regression test
  • vitest: 89/89; typecheck and production build pass

Successful model output remains unverified locally because the stored coding-agent Codex OAuth refresh token returns 401. The UI correctly surfaces that terminal failure in Session Result.

Poll the result endpoint for a bounded window after prompt streams close so terminal details persisted asynchronously are not missed. Cover the eventual-consistency window with an App regression test and verify it through the local production WebUI path.
