Invalid configuration value detected for fs.azure.account.key - after update #75

Closed

Description

@adrianofewerling

Hi,

After updating this api, I started facing errors in Azure.

My queries before were running fine using the 'utils' package from DBSQLClient, but now, it is giving this error:

Error running query: Failure to initialize configuration Invalid configuration value detected for fs.azure.account.key

From my research, this error is related to authentication in Azure's File Storage.

If this is the case, how can I pass my credentials to correctly execute the queries?
If not, how can I solve this problem?

Thanks.

Hi @adrianofewerling! I don't think this error is related to this library. Can you try to roll back to 0.1.8-beta.1 and run the same query against the same warehouse to see if error is still there or not?

Hi @kravets-levko, thanks for your reply

I did what you asked, however, the error was the same.

Recently, the cluster admin changed the policies and I believe this caused the change in the authentication type.

Can you tell me if it is possible to send the ABFS (Azure Blob File Storage) authentication along?

If yes, how can I do it?

I haven't found a way to do this.

    Hi
If you are connecting to a SQL Warehouse cluster - set the following in the configuration in SQL Admin. You

    fs.azure.account.auth.type OAuth
    fs.azure.account.oauth.provider.type org.apache.hadoop.fs.azurebfs.oauth2.ClientCredsTokenProvider
    fs.azure.account.oauth2.client.endpoint https://login.microsoftonline.com/__your__tenant__/oauth2/token
    fs.azure.account.oauth2.client.id __your_application_registration_client_id
    fs.azure.account.oauth2.client.secret __your_application_registration_client_secret

Alternatively, switch to using Unity catalog - and query the Unity catalog tables.

Hi @divyavanmahajan! I want to ask you to upgrade to latest library version and check it this issue is still relevant. Please let me know (or just close the issue if it no longer reproduces). Thanks!
