Activity
Creating a
commitizen-extrasrepository (or org) for community plugins is an organisational decision rather than a code change. The mechanics that would back it already exist:- third-party plugins ship via the
commitizen.pluginentry-point group (pyproject.toml:62-65) and are auto-discovered bycommitizen/cz/__init__.py:discover_plugins, cz init(since PR feat(init): discover third-party version providers via entry points #1971) discovers third-party version providers via thecommitizen.providerentry-point group.
The remaining piece is a curated index — README + repo with badges of community plugins. That's a maintainer / org-owner call. Surfaced via the round-2 triage in #1965; flagging that the underlying plumbing is ready and the only blocker is the org decision.

The idea is to create a new repo, under the commitizen-tools organization, which can be maintained by the community, where more version providers and other plugins can be submitted. Keeping
commitizen"core" lighter.
