docs(mosaic): scope parity reminders to current feature edits - #10656
Mosaic ports can lose legacy behavior or accept incompatible props when agents compare only the component files. This adds guidance to inventory the legacy implementation, shared types, and relevant Clerk runtime calls, then verify observable behavior before human review.
Claude and Codex edit hooks add a conditional reminder for feature paths in the current action. Unrelated edits receive no parity guidance, even when the branch contains earlier Mosaic work. The hook command still starts for matching tool calls across the repository and filters paths internally. Existing, renamed, and new feature paths are covered without guessing whether a same-name legacy counterpart exists.
The reminder is advisory. It does not block edits or completion, read notes as proof, or run an audit itself. Read-only reviews use an explicit feature-scoped command. Shell-only edits have no automatic reminder. The existing lint hooks are unchanged.
The migration and parity guides remain the source of truth. They require focused type checks and representative success, pending, and failure paths through the existing fake FAPI or supported browser setup. The audit separates parity gaps, intentional differences needing disclosure, missing verification, and optional improvements. It preserves accepted decisions, including documenting async onClick behavior, and leaves product choices open. Friendlier missing-wallet messaging and sign-up continuation remain optional improvements to inherited behavior.

…y audit for ports
Ports of @clerk/react and @clerk/ui components are migrations. A PreToolUse
hook blocks writing a new feature model until its legacy namesake has been
read, and a Stop hook blocks finishing once until the parity audit subagent
has run. AGENTS.md, migration.md and parity-audit.md say the same for agents
that don't run Claude hooks.
It looks like this branch is under active development. To avoid overwhelming you with review comments due to an influx of new commits, CodeRabbit has automatically paused this review. You can configure this behavior by changing the reviews.auto_review.auto_pause_after_reviewed_commits setting.
The migration guidance now covers React and UI component discovery, feature inventories, focused checks, and read-only parity audits. The parity gate provides explicit review reminders and advisory context for supported Mosaic feature edits. Claude Code and Codex hooks invoke the gate before matching tool actions. Tests cover the gate's inputs, output, review behavior, hook configuration, and CI execution.
Migration audits remain a manual requirement; the hooks provide reminders rather than enforcement. No merge-blocking defect was established.

Review comments at @.claude/hooks/require-mosaic-parity-audit.mjs:
- Line 26: Replace the transcript-wide `audited` check with per-feature
validation over `migrations`: match each feature to an audit call that names its
legacy counterpart, and count it only if that call occurs after the feature’s
last change. Require the audit call to correspond to the documented migration
audit rather than accepting any `Agent` input containing “parity”.
Review comments at @packages/mosaic/AGENTS.md:
- Around line 29-30: Align the counterpart detection rule in the migration
guidance with the stop hook’s actual coverage: either broaden the detector to
catch React and UI counterparts with different names or legacy layouts, or
explicitly document the detector’s narrower scope. Verify the chosen scope is
consistent in both places so features cannot bypass the required migration
audit.
Review comments at @packages/mosaic/docs/migration.md:
- Around line 25-28: The Phase 1 search command still searches only the UI
component tree despite the inventory including React components. Update the
command near the migration guide’s legacy-file inventory to search both
`packages/ui` and `packages/react`, ensuring the React counterpart is included.

The new sign-out-button model Write and the user-avatar Edit each now get a parity reminder scoped to their feature, and both edits still go through. Before, there was no reminder.
