Documents the changes in berkeley-cdss/sections#28, which fixes berkeley-cdss/sections#3 and berkeley-cdss/sections#17. Merge this after that PR is merged and deployed. Until then, this page would describe behavior the tool doesn't have yet.

Changes to course-software/seamless-learning/sections.md:

  • Creating sections: removes the warning that reimporting duplicates sections, which linked to the old private issue. Adds a Reimporting sections subsection covering:
    • how a row matches an existing section: Type, Day, Start, End and Location, plus the staff email when those are shared
    • that students stay enrolled, and sections missing from the sheet are kept
    • that changing a row's time or place in the sheet creates a new section, so those changes belong in the Settings tab
    • that the import stops, naming the row, on a capacity below enrollment or an unreadable day or time
  • Updating section metadata: removes the "capacity can't be modified" warning. Says the Settings tab is for admins only, lists each field and its format, and explains the save message and the fields being refilled with saved values.
  • Changing a section's staff member (new): the Staff Member dropdown and who appears in it.
  • Updating section capacities: replaces the copy-the-roster workaround with the Settings tab or a reimport.
  • Deleting a section (new): admins can delete a section with no students from its Roster tab.

The rest of the page (auth.cs61a.org setup, the Cal-CS-61A-Staff repository links, per-course domains, API secrets from auth) predates the move to a single bCourses-based deployment. It is out of date but outside this PR's scope.

I couldn't build the site locally: bundle exec jekyll build failed on this machine, apparently because of a Ruby version mismatch. The new sections' anchors haven't been checked in a rendered page.

The sections tool now updates matching sections when the Sections sheet
is imported again, instead of duplicating them, and admins can change a
section's capacity and staff member in its Settings tab
(berkeley-cdss/sections#28). Replace the duplicate-sections warning and
the copy-the-roster workaround for capacities with how these work now,
and describe the Settings fields, the staff dropdown and deleting a
section.

Upgrading Ruby bumped rubocop-rspec from 3.0.4 to 3.10.2, whose new
RSpec/Output cop (enabled by NewCops) flags the puts in
spec/support/spec_summary.rb. That script prints the a11y test summary
to the CI log on purpose, so exclude it from the cop. The linter checks
every file, so this failed every PR.

Reverts "Let spec_summary.rb print the a11y summary", which is now
#77, so this PR only changes the sections page.

The Rubocop check fails here because of spec/support/spec_summary.rb, which this PR doesn't touch; every PR hits it since the Ruby upgrade. #77 fixes it. Merge #77 first, then rerun the checks here.
