  • .NET 8 SDK
  • Node.js (with npm)
  • SQL Server LocalDB

How to Run

  1. Start the Backend (ASP.NET Core):

    • Open a terminal at the repository root.
    • Navigate to the API project: cd backend/Cipher.Api
    • Start the API: dotnet run
    • The API will be available at http://localhost:7200.
  2. Run EF Migrations (if needed):

    • Migrations are applied automatically on startup.
    • To create new migrations, see backend/BUILD.md.
  3. Start the Frontend (Vite):

    • Open a second terminal at the repository root.
    • Navigate to the UI project: cd frontend/cipher-ui
    • Install dependencies: npm install
    • Start the development server: npm run dev
    • The UI will be available at http://localhost:5173.

End-to-End Flow (Happy Path)

  1. Open the application in your browser.
  2. Click Generate Training Data.
  3. Click Train Model.
  4. Click Generate Classification Data.
  5. Select the newly trained model from the dropdown.
  6. Click Run Classification.
  7. The top 10 results will be displayed in the table.

Each step should provide a successful response, which you can verify in the browser's developer console.
