Don't run status while in the background #569

Closed

Description

@BinaryMuse

We want to avoid index.lock contention when on the command line, so we should avoid running git status variants when the app is in the background.

Wondering if this means we can't respond to any changes in the background??

    If there's a filesystem change while we're in the background, do we want to run a refresh as soon as we're brought into the foreground to "catch up"?

    @smashwilson I think so, yes.

    Another option is to debounce nsfw events ONLY when the app is in the background... if we see something changed, wait several seconds or for the window to be re-focused before letting the events through.
