Since MySQL 8.0 ( the current supported version with CloudStack) is reaching EOL by April 2026, requesting to validate and support a newer version i.e 8.4, in an upcoming release.
We've been using mariadb 11.4 with galera cluster and its been working fine. That said, we did hit some issues up front with character sets and collations that we had to customize in our mariadb config to get it to work.
Also, MySQL hasn't seen any updates in their public repository in over 3 months, so I think MariaDB is likely going to be the only path forward long term.
Hi @rajujith! I've categorized this issue as feature based on the following analysis:
Reasoning: This is a request to add support for MySQL 8.4, a new version of the database that CloudStack doesn't currently support. This represents new functionality being added to the platform to stay current with upstream MySQL versions.

Yeah, i wouldn´t use Oracles flavour of MySQL either. Happy Percona user for ~15 yrs or more
