What changes

Both plugins now compare the globally installed CodeJury CLI with npm's latest stable version during the startup version check. For example, an installed 0.9.9 with latest 0.10.0 produces an upgrade offer with both versions and an exact global install command.

The Codex and Claude skills ask whether to upgrade or keep the current version, verify approved upgrades, and respect declines and explicit version choices. Ordinary CLI commands do not repeat the lookup. Checks time out after three seconds; unavailable or invalid registry responses preserve the installed CLI. Codex plugin version is 0.1.5.

Validation

  • Regression: all four new-version checks failed against the previous runners.
  • 33 focused plugin tests passed, covering POSIX and Windows command paths, version ordering, prereleases, aliases, failures, timeouts, and no automatic upgrade.
  • npm test: 595 passed.
  • All eight GitHub CI jobs passed for commit 9e58a1de8bdb12f0fc464d2a90c076a36d78f54d.
  • Built and extracted the Codex ZIP and copied the standalone Claude plugin; both used the real global 0.10.0 CLI and offered an upgrade with simulated newer registry metadata, without changing the global install.
  • Live registry startup checks succeeded for both runners.
  • npm run test:package: 333 passed; 60 freshly installed files verified. An initial run alongside the full source suite hit kill EPERM in an unchanged console-cleanup test. That test passed in isolation, and a fresh full package rerun passed without code changes.

Limitations

The chat prompt is presented by the host according to the plugin skills; the runner does not block on terminal input. No live model-backed review was started.
