I've built a simple Pomodoro/Flowtime timer in HTML/JS that I'd like to use as a widget on macOS (iOS is not necessary, but would be nice to have).
There's a self-updating timer that counts time up/down visibly. But since the JS widgets apparently shows a screenshot instead of the actual running JS code, the widget does not update itself when the displayed timer updates every second.
Is there a way to either configure the widget to listen for changes to the content of the widget in the JS code, or trigger an event that forces the widget to reload?
Hello,
No, a widget can't update frequently. Even a native widget written in Swift UI can't.
Widgets can only update based on a timer (no more than every 5 minutes) and when the user clicks a button.
Swift UI widgets can also generate interface states for the near future. However, this isn't possible for js widgets because of memory limits.
