Review: intro.md #2
Description
Translator review of lectures/intro.md — Python Programming for Economics and Finance — for the Japanese edition, by @Chihiro2000GitHub.
| English source | lectures/intro.md · published page |
| Japanese draft | the build pull request for #1, which also carries this page and closes this issue (with a preview link) |
How the round works. Matt drafts this page with the current version of the translation engine, and it arrives on the build pull request for #1, because the book needs its opening page before anything else can be previewed. You review it there, with a suggestion block on any line you would change or a commit to the branch for a larger change. When your review is complete, approve the pull request and mention @mmcky. Matt then reviews the suggestions and updates the page and the engine (glossary, rules, lints) before the next lecture is drafted, and merges the pull request. The merged page is kept as a reference for measuring later versions of the engine; REVIEWING.md and the translation manual have the details.
What matters most: meaning errors; terms that are wrong or disagree with the glossary; register and punctuation that depart from the house style; Japanese that reads unnaturally. Please skip errors in the English, which belong upstream in QuantEcon/lecture-python-programming, and the translation: block at the top of the file.
About this page. The book's opening page is two sentences (about 40 words of English) and the table of contents, so it makes a short warm-up: a chance to try suggestion blocks before your first full lecture. The same pull request gives the book's six part titles in Japanese (they live in lectures/_toc.yml and show in the table of contents on this page); please check the two for your half too, Introduction to Python and Foundations of Scientific Computing.
Done when
