Weird formatting issues #3928

Closed
PowerShell/PowerShellEditorServices
#1764

Description

Prerequisites

  • I have written a descriptive issue title.
  • I have searched all issues to ensure it has not already been reported.
  • I have read the troubleshooting guide.
  • I am sure this issue is with the extension itself and does not reproduce in a standalone PowerShell instance.
  • I have verified that I am using the latest version of Visual Studio Code and the PowerShell extension.
  • If this is a security issue, I have read the security issue reporting guidance.

Summary

From time to time I have these weird formatting issues with new previews where even tho there are no errors and everything is great when I do formatting - this:

Restarting the session fixes the issue, but I have not been able to track why this even happens. It's like the engine randomly thinks something different is being tracked.

Does it ever repro when you're using PowerShell 7?

Hard to say, I run PS 7 occasionally, but I'll keep this in mind if it happens again.
