AcceptAndGetNext should work to continue from ReverseSearchHistory #514

Open

Description

@Jaykul

I love AcceptAndGetNext -- I have it set to Ctrl+Enter on my boxes, but I'm frequently frustrated that it seems to only work when I use up-arrow to get to the history command...

For instance, today, what I really wanted to do is replay all my steps from when I did Import-Module AcmeSharp ... but I had to up-arrow 20 or so times to get back there, because Ctrl+R ReverseSearchHistory doesn't seems to go back in the history in such a way that AcceptAndGetNext works.

Is that something doable?

    The input loop that you enter during history search doesn't support general bindings, but this might still be possible and it makes a lot of sense.

    Nine years later, a linux novice discovered this functionality in Bash, found the equivalent functionality in PSReadline, and then found another soul who was confused about when it worked (tapping up key) and didn't (history search). So +1 vote for this feature!
