hey @sethbergman is it possible to define the scope of this issue a little more? I want to work on the profile UI but this issue feels broad enough that I am blocked.

Ahh yes this was something I thought about while exploring the new GitHub API, which utilizes GraphQL and allows you to easily query specific data about users, orgs, repos, and also allows you to get Gravatars for user profiles. I thought it would be beneficial for our users to build a resume with a component inside of their user profile to display their contributions and format it in a nice way. This is probably one that needs more fleshing out and could be integrated down the line once we have a portal type system built for admins, users, mentors and mentees, etc. I would also like to have the ability to link social profiles like linkedin, which was what the Passport middleware was for. I believe that issue was closed though. Anyway, it's open for feedback and discussion, and likely more of a long term goal.

The above is in regards to #486 and #540.

hey @sethbergman, so is this something we could later integrate with redux?

I'm not sure. I believe Apollo is the standard for GraphQL. There's also graph.cool and graphiql, but I don't see why you can't implement redux. It just depends on what parts of the app need state management and action dispatchers.
