Checks

  • I confirm I have restarted NotePlan and this problem still persists.
  • I confirm I have reinstalled the Plugin and this problem still persists.
  • Is this a repeatable problem?

System

  • Device OS: macOS 15.5 (24F74)
  • NotePlan Version 3.17.2 (1385)
  • Plugin Name & Version: Filer v1.2.0

Describe the bug

When I /create new note from selection, the location chooser pops up. If I then start typing e.g. init to find my Initial Assessments folders (I do a lot of these!) then they all appear, but with no context to where they live.

Image

Instead I would like some kind of trail, e.g. prefix in small grey after the name, or at least something to identify which one I want!

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Create multiple folders with the same name in various places
  2. Select some text, hit Cmd-J, choose Filer: /new note from selection
  3. In the folder chooser, type the first few letters of the common folder name
  4. See error

@jgclark I have this same issue/need. Would love to see paths in the chooseFolder chooser by default

You should probably ellipsize to show just the last n chars of the path

  3. self-assigned this

I should be able to improve this, within the limits of the Command Bar.
