This brings Base Metals to Minecraft 26.3 with Forge 66 and Java 25.
It carries forward the released 26.2 gameplay, including raw metals, Kiri's ore
overlays, filled buckets and High/Low Fantasy. Registry IDs, material stats and
the eleven OreSpawn rules stay the same. The dependency is the published
OreSpawn 4.1.0.2603001 release.
The port updates recipes, loot, smith trades, tools, rendering and saved block
states for the newer Minecraft APIs. Coal and charcoal still work as fuel;
metal powders and nuggets don't. Dungeon placement now respects protected
imported terrain, without blocking generation in new chunks or below old worlds.
The local checks cover 128 unit tests, 46 GameTests, packaged clients and servers
on Forge 66.0.0 and 66.1.0, both content modes and repeated connections. Sixteen
historical upgrade cases cover first load, reload and chunks opened later,
alongside modern-world controls. The builds also pass generated-data, dependency,
release-JAR and IDE-isolation checks, with byte-identical clean rebuilds.
Linux client checks use Ubuntu 26.04 and Mesa's EGL software-rendering path. A quick SDL
graphics check now verifies Minecraft's OpenGL requirements before launch, so
an unusable virtual display fails clearly rather than waiting at an error dialog.
This does not change the released JARs or ordinary client graphics settings.
I've finished the manual testing. The README, changelog and migration guide are
up to date. Agent notes and generated test output are not included.
