MPDClient.list() never returns

Hi, I'm trying to use send_ and fetch_ to access a huge music library. If I use ncmpccpp I can easily and quickly list and browse my artists list.
However, there is no way to make a python script properly retrieve a list of artists.
I tried using the MPDClient.list('artist') command but it gets stuck forever.

What to do ?

I suppose they are using some kind of iterator in ncmpcpp while python-mpd makes it a list, that is only returned when the whole result is fetched.
