The Dexcom 6 app sends false BG readings to Loop when sensor not active #756
The fix for using both Dexcom 5 and 6 apps on iphone is to have separate share accounts with the current version of Loop. However, obtaining data directly from the Dexcom 6 app in upcoming versions may be more complex. When a sensor is not active or not reading to the app, the Dexcom 6 app sends glucose levels of 10 or 1 mg/dl to Loop. Something to be aware of when updating the next Loop version, since it may also prevent Loop from reading from a Dexcom 5 app on the same phone. I had the Dexcom 6 app reading to apple Health with a 3 hr delay, but the same problem occurs when that switch is off.
With this change, 350e401, Loop should handle those values correctly. The change is included in Loop 1.5.6. What version did you see the bad values in? Could you send more info? Maybe capture an issue report? Thanks.
Thank you. I am seeing the problem in Loop 1.5.1 using both the G5 and G6 at once to assess their differences. Issue report is below: Text File.txt
most recent episode was on 09july.
It's interesting to see how Loop handles the low values. If the 6 data stream was interrupted for hours, which occurred at night, morning BG levels rose. It seems that Dexcom has not yet solved the signal loss problem in environments with other bluetooth devices active.
I'll have everyone using the 6 get the latest version now.
thank you for your help.
