Switch functions tests to Python 3.6+ #3341

Closed

Description

@kurtisvg

Currently functions is using a check in the bashfile - instead, we should use the noxfile-templates to control this:

    Here is the permalink:

    # Skip unsupported Python versions for Cloud Functions
    # (Some GCF samples' dependencies don't support them)
    if [[ "$file" == "functions/"* ]]; then
    PYTHON_VERSION="$(python --version 2>&1)"
    if [[ "$PYTHON_VERSION" == "Python 2."* || "$PYTHON_VERSION" == "Python 3.5"* ]]; then
    # echo -e "\n Skipping $file: Python $PYTHON_VERSION is not supported by Cloud Functions.\n"
    continue
    fi

    I'm not sure it's still relevant. The bash script is excluding python 2.x and python 3.5? We don't have python 3.5 any more iirc.

    Maybe I'll try to remove that block and run the periodic build to see how it goes.
