✨ Update replaceCharacters function to be able to skip Selection update until after full change #86

Description

This improvement will allow for multiple lines of a selection to be modified before updating the selection. This will be helpful for fixing CodeEditApp/CodeEditSourceEditor#304.

Alternatives Considered

We considered using a state machine to hold the state of the character replacement
