To get GitHub’s Pair Extraordinaire achievement, you need to have a co-authored commit included in a merged pull request. [GitHub] Easiest method
git add . git commit -m "Update README Co-authored-by: John Doe john@example.com" The email in the Co-authored-by: line needs to be associated with the other person's GitHub account. Their GitHub noreply email also works. Then push the branch:
Once GitHub recognizes the co-authored commit in the merged PR, the Pair Extraordinaire achievement should appear on the relevant profile(s). It may not update immediately. [GitHub] Important: simply mentioning another user in the PR description doesn't count—the co-author information needs to be part of the commit attribution. Also, use this for genuine collaboration rather than adding someone solely to generate a badge. If you want, I can also show you exactly how two GitHub accounts can earn Pair Extraordinaire together, step by step, including the commands to copy/paste. |
